Can i write my own epr
Have you looked at his previous EPR's? I can't imagine his duties changed that much. Does the SrA have post AF plans? Does the SrA know that his time in the AF is coming to an end? You must understand that not all SrA have taken ALS, so it's up to the supervisor to communicate with their troop and how they want their crap listed. If the Airman doesn't care about his EPR, why should he expect a 5? I keep mine updated throughout the month so I don't forget anything. It's been fairly effective to help reduce the last minute call for bullets since we're getting them throughout the year. I keep all of my troops 's in a folder and use them to help write their feedbacks and EPR's. He told me that every time I did something out of the ordinary or 'above and beyond' to write it down along with basic details and the date. He said that even if I wasn't sure if it was important to just write it down anyway. He also told me to write down anything I volunteered for and any extra duties I performed. Yes, promotion does depend on other factors testing, time in grade, etc but the promotion points of the EPR will almost certainly make the difference between getting promoted and NOT getting promoted.
When I was a young airman, I used to think they weren't important and I'd get promoted by testing but I'm here to tell you, that's a hard way to go. For some career fields, it may be impossible to get promoted without a good EPR. So I'm not saying they're not important --I'm just saying they're easy to complete.
And complete accurately. In summary, EPRs are easier to write than most people think. If you have all the information you need, which is the RIP and a list of the ratee's accomplishments, you can produce a pretty good draft in an hour or so depending on your ability.

An individual's EPR is extremely private. Only the rater and the person being rated will see it. Its contents and the document itself are never shared with anyone in the workcenter.
