Who directs which room in four rooms

He is stern with the children, uttering dire threats if they do not behave. Not only do they misbehave, but they do it so comprehensively that there's one shot I won't say more in which they seem to have gotten into all possible varieties of trouble simultaneously.

And that's before the dead body turns up. This is slapstick on a grand scale, acted and edited with perfect comic timing, and it makes me want to see a Rodriguez comedy.

Unfortunately, it's the only one of the four films really worth seeing. By the time Ted walks in, they're drunk and doing a replay of an old Alfred Hitchcock TV episode in which a man bets he can light a Zippo lighter 10 times in a row. If he loses, his finger gets chopped off. This story line is appropriately Tarantinonian, but the timing is off except for one key shot , and the dialogue is all over the map.

The movie looks carelessly prepared. Tarantino had the right idea in choosing to satirize himself but unfortunately does not seem to understand why he is funny.

Another room, where Ted was supposed to deliver some ice, turns out to house an angry husband David Proval , who is holding his bound-and-gagged wife Jennifer Beals at gunpoint. A third room is taken by a tough-talking gangster Antonio Banderas , his doormat wife Tamlyn Tomita , and their two children; the gangster demands that Ted watch over the kids, who turn out to be mischievous terrors beyond Ted's wildest imagination. Things pick up considerably with Room The Misbehavers, directed by Robert Rodriguez, starring Antonio Banderas as a Mexican gangster who leaves his two children in the care of Ted with the strict instruction 'Don't misbehave.

And it involves cigarettes, a dead hooker, a hypodermic, and fire. The story owes a debt to Roald Dahl, who gets a name check in the credits, but lacks any sparkle or wit. Movies 07 04 It's New Year's Eve, and Ted the Bellhop Roth is a very busy man, tending to a coven of witches, an angry husband with a gun, two misbehaving kids, and some Hollywood aristocracy partaking in a drunken bet.

The stunt seems misguided and out of place in the drama of this story. The ideas are good, but the execution didn't quite work. Some pretty strange intensity by Jennifer Beals here.

The film takes a large jump forward into sharp comedy and independent ideas. The tone was mean-spirited and wicked. The children were appropriately mischievous and the father Antonio Banderes was nuts. The camera work was involving, and the comedic notes were hit correctly. The story worked and the viewer will have it stuck in their minds for days if they can't make it to the next story. The best of the four is the last one, with quick and sensible dialog, an inspired plot, appropriate acting, and an off-kilter ending that is shocking, brutal, and brilliant.
